Dr. Mahmood Bilal is the Associate Director of Clinical Immunology Laboratory, located at ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ of Medicine and Science. Dr. Bilal is a diplomate of the ľ¹ÏÖ±²¥ Board of Clinical Chemistry, and a fellow of the Academy of Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine (ADLM). He serves as a clinical consultant in laboratory medicine in the fields of: clinical immunology & immunogenetics, clinical chemistry, and molecular diagnostics. Dr. Bilal obtained a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, and a PhD in Immunology from the University of Iowa, where he worked on mechanisms of human T cell receptor activation. Dr. Bilal has written multiple original research and review manuscripts in the fields of immunology, reproduction, nutrition, and virology. Current work includes establishing of new methodologies (Laboratory Developed Tests [LDT]) for the purpose of evaluating nutritional, immune, and infection status of patients with infertility, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia. This includes thiamine deficiency through transketolase assessment, immunogenetics, and microbiological testing.
